Regaining Access To An IONOS Account

Posted on December 29, 2023 by admin

Most of us have several dozen accounts that we must memory the username, email, and password for. It’s not unlikely that you’ve forgotten the password for one of your accounts in the past. If you have lost your IONOS account, or are unable to access your account, you may be panicking. But don’t worry, we will walk through how to regain access to your IONOS account.

Check your login URL

It’s very important to make sure that you are logging in to the right place to access your IONOS account. With so many phishing attempts in the wild, you shouldn’t rely on a link in an email for accessing your account.

Make sure you are accessing the correct IONOS login portal which is located at https://login.ionos.com/ for US and worldwide customers.

Forgot your Customer ID

If you’ve forgotten or misplaced your customer ID number, know that it is located on every invoice email sent to you. Otherwise, you can also login with your email address or domain name instead.

Forgot your password

If you’ve forgotten your IONOS password, head over to https://password.ionos.com/ and follow the steps to reset your password.

Error or no longer able to access account after login

If you are stuck at a prompt or error message after you’ve successfully logged in, telling you that you are no longer able to access your IONOS account, don’t immediately panic. IONOS has a known bug that can log you in to an old/previous account that may have since been terminated. Instead of logging in with your email, try logging in with your active domain name or email address you’ve registered with.

If this still doesn’t resolve your issue, check your email for any missed emails from ionos.com, ionos.co.uk, or ionos.ca (or which ever market you belong to).

Reset account with Phone PIN or lost 2FA

If you had set an IONOS Phone PIN for your account, you can call in in order to regain access to your account. A Phone PIN is a (minimum of 4 digits) PIN number manually set within the IONOS control panel, and is used to verify you when you call in for your account. US and worldwide IONOS Tech Support: +1 866-991-2631.

It is also necessary to call in if you’ve lost access to your 2FA (two factor authentication).

Lost password, no email access, and no Phone PIN

If you’ve lost access to your IONOS account, don’t remember (or didn’t set) the Phone PIN, and also lost access to the email address on file for the account (or it is unable to receive email), you will have to fill out an Account Change Request Form and email that to the IONOS Process Team.  Please see the form and instructions here:
